As an everyday runner, I used to think logging miles was enough. But over time I realized that strength training is just as important as the runs themselves. This past weekend I took on the Disneyland Halloween Challenge, running back-to-back races, and Iโm proud to say I finished strong and injury-free. ๐ช๐๐ Strength training made all the difference: It kept my muscles balanced and resilient through long miles. It improved my running efficiency, so I had energy in reserve when I needed it most. It protected me from the aches and pains that often come with higher mileage. Without the time Iโve invested in strength workouts, recovery would have been slower and injuries more likely. Instead, I crossed the finish line smiling and ready for the next adventure. ๐
โจ To all my fellow runners, donโt underestimate the power of strength work. Itโs the key to not only finishing races, but finishing them healthy and strong. ๐ฅ
